The Wines!!

Baby Prosecco Frizzante “Click”, Veneto, Italy $12.99
A fresh, young (hence the name) juicy Prosecco featuring subtle aromas of flowers and ripe fruit, with refreshing acidity that is well integrated with flavors and effervescence.  It is done in a frizzante style that creates small soft and gentle bubbles for easy drinking that is always a crowd favorite.

Netzl Carnuntum Chardonnay 2015 Austria $18.99
?A blend of two vineyards, which benefit from the cool winds off the Danube, especially during the hot summer nights that gives this Chardonnay its perfect harmony. Beautiful tropical fruit aromas are balanced by great acidity built on good minerality. Juicy fruit and some spice on the nose, yellow apples and melons and some hay along with good acidity give this wine the fresh animating finish.

Miguel Merino Rioja Vinas Jovenes 2012, Spain $19.99
Old vines do not live forever. In order to have access to such special vines in the future as we do today, we needed to start working on younger vineyards as well. In 2007 we bought the vineyard of El Rincon, in the South of Briones, planted in 1998. We have also planted some new vineyards which will become part of this wine until the vines are old enough to give us grapes for our Riservas. Tempranillo with close to 10% Graciano, aged for 12 months in 72 barrels made with American oak staves and French oak bottoms.  A beautiful, translucent ruby color, there are deep, dark cherry aromas leading to a very concentrated, pure, intense, cherry fruited palate.

Miguel Merino Rioja Riserva 2007, Spain $29.99
Balance and harmony are the key of a good Riserva wine. Nothing must be missing, but nothing should outstand: fruit, intensity, structure, persistence and personality must appear unisonous as a good orchestra. And that is what we aim in this wine made from vineyards planted in the 60’s. Tempranillo with close to 5% Graciano and Mazuelo, aged for 19 months in 37 barrels made with American oak staves and French oak bottoms.  Deeply coloured, with savoury black fruits, some dried herbs deep, savory, meaty dark fruit and black cherry aromas and a very juicy palate of blackberry and black cherry fruit. Rich, and yet perfectly balanced.

94 points Tim Atkins: "Combining fruit from two vineyards planted in the 1960s, this is a Tempranillo-based blend with a splash of Graciano and Mazuelo for extra acidity. Deeply coloured, with savoury black fruits, some dried herbs, attractive oak and a chalky, mineral flourish." (June 2015)

Miguel Merino Rioja Unnum 2010 $44.99
The vineyard as the Star. Tempranillo is the grape that best leads and keeps the peculiarities in each soil, and with this wine we try to bottle a place and a year. Everything that comes after the harvest (fermentation, oak, ageing) is designed to respect and maintain the extraordinary characteristics of Mendiguerra and La Loma, the vineyards of Unnum. 100 % Tempranillo aged for 11 months in 17 French oak barrels and 5 of American oak.  a varietal Tempranillo from his oldest vineyard, planted in 1931 on chalk and sandy soils. Black cherry and pomegranate fruit, with good grip and freshness, nuanced oak and a long, well balanced finish.

95 points Tim Atkins: "Miguel Merino’s top wine is a varietal Tempranillo from his oldest vineyard, planted in 1931 on chalk and sandy soils. Black cherry and pomegranate fruit, with good grip and freshness, nuanced oak and a long, well balanced finish.
Good now, but will age well. 2015-25.
