The Wines!!

Lima Vinho Verde $9.99
This Vinho Verde is named for the legendary Lima River that originates in Ourense, Spain. During Roman times, solders avoided this river as it was said to be the incarnation of Lethe in Hades, a river from which the dead drank to forget their earthly lives.

Maurice Martin Saint Veran $18.99
White gold color with silver or greenish reflections , shiny and soft.
Aromas suggest broom, acacia, green apple, lemongrass, citruses.
A fresh, dry and fruity, nervous with a good balance.

Venancio de Costa Lima, Reserva $14.99
Intense garnet color, complex nose with touches of ripe fruit, jam and spices, full-bodied flavor and a very balanced finish.

100% Castelao (also known as "Periquita" and "Joao de Santarem". As the most widely-grown red grape variety in Portugal it is still often referred to in Portuguese as Periquita, although that name is legally owned by José Maria da Fonseca in the Setúbal Peninsula outside of Lisbon. It is highly adaptable to different climatic conditions and its remarkable versatility enables winemakers to make a range of wines – from the easy drinking and quaffable reds and rosados to the powerful and intense reds perfectly suited to lengthy cellaring. Castelão comes into its own and is most expressive in the Sétubal Peninsula, where it makes meaty and intense wines with aromas of red berries and blue flowers that marry well with the deft use of oak.

Made from 45 year old vines.

Sonvida Malbec $24.99
The most challenging of years yielded a great harvest, and a magnificent wine.  Frost in September, just as our Malbec was in budbreak.  Then a fierce Zonda wind in early November, just as the vineyard was flowering.  The result?  Yields low, BUT quality high.

SonVida Malbec 2012 celebrates intense fruit, plum, blackberry, even dark chocolate notes, with the optimal acidity and smooth tannins that are so typical of the award-winning Altamira district in the Uco Valley of Mendoza.  Above all, this latest Malbec from the Alegira vineyard boasts rare balance - a hint of the Old World in the best of the New World.

Alain Jaume "Les Champavins" Cotes du Rhone $18.99
red wines are then carefully aged underground in cellars with a controlled temperature of 15°C for 14 months.
For Grenache we use thick concrete vats in order to preserve the subtle aromas and the power of the fruit.
Syrah and Mourvèdre are aged in French oak barrels to soften the tannic structure and enhance their black fruits aromas and spicy finish.
