The Wines!!

Lovo, Fior D'Arancio, Orange Moscato D'Asti $18.99
Fior d’Arancio (“orange blossom”) is one of the world’s unique wines: a very rare clone of Moscato that derives its unmistakable citrus scent from the orange groves growing nearby. Wow! A sparkling wine with refined bubbles and a beautiful, pearlescent color, Fior d’Arancio is perfect as an aperitif or to accompany a delightful dessert. Produced by Salvatore Lovo, a true hands-in- the-dirt winemaker, there are very few estates in Italy that can produce this DOCG wine, so our friendly advice is to enjoy it while we can!?

Gargenega Frizzante, Verona $15.99

The Quintessential Summer White Wine!

Monte Tondo is a fabulous, family run estate nestled in the gentle hills of Soave, on a slope overlooking the valley. Three generations of the Magnabosco family have farmed their land and made their wines with tremendous pride and passion. Today, father and daughter Gino and Marta Magnabosco oversee the estate and make the wines. They farm organically, they harvest by hand, and they craft some of the top white wines of the region.

The Monte Tondo Garganega Frizzante might be the funnest white wine in the store. 100% Garganega from certified organic vineyards, this one is zesty, spritzy, light, and airy. It offers up aromas and flavors of ripe apple, pear, lemon, white flowers, and just a touch of mineral. And all of those delicious aromas and flavors are delivered along a rush of tiny, gentle bubbles.?

Marchetti Verdicchio, dei Castelli di Jesi, Classico $17.99
It could be said that Verdicchio is a thinking person’s Pinot Grigio. Refreshing citrus fruits, playful acidity, and complex minerality are the hallmarks of this varietal, and when well-made, it is one of the best whites in the Mediterranean world. Incredibly, this wine is all free-run juice (no pressing!), and as a Classico, is the best example in its class we have ever tried. Marchetti’s family has been making Verdicchio for generations, and it shows.?

Lovo "Blossom" Rosso $16.99
Lovo Salvatore Lovo In the quaint village Vò, in the heart of the Colli Euganei in the South of Veneto, lies the estate Lovo. To drive to the estate is to cross flat land for miles, the eastern part of the expansive Po River Valley, and then to come–rather unexpectedly–upon hills of arresting size. Estates here are well known for producing organic wines.
This Cabernet Sauvignon cuts straight across the grain of the highly concentrated, heavily-oaked versions we have in the U.S. Unoaked, it is remarkably bright and clean, with a zesty-ness perfect for food off the grill

Martorana Nero D'Avola $18.99
Royal ruby, with aromas of red flowers, strawberry, sour cherry, to more structured wines with aromas of ripe cherry, rose, sweet spices, licorice and cocoa, a structured, full body, healthy acidity and tannins. Pairings: charcuterie and antipasti dishes, grilled swordfish, grilled and roasted meats, medium-aged cheeses and mushroom risotto.

La Quercia, Montepulciano D'Abbruzzo Riserva $24.99
This Montepulciano is a great example of what can happen when you match low-yield winemaking expertise with a prolific growing zone, and constantly cut, cut, cut back the vines. Made by winemaker Antonio Lamona, the result is one of the best quality, most expressive and balanced Montepulcianos around. This wine is also 100% organic, and delivers as a wine that takes no shortcuts.
