The Wines!!

Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, NZ $17.99
92 points #32
There's no shortage of expressive New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs to recommend, but this bottling from Nautilus is one of the most memorable examples tasted this year, particularly impressive in that it comes from the tricky 2017 vintage, a wet, cool year. Credit goes to Clive Jones, who's been the winemaker for this family-owned brand since 1998. He made the call to pick some grapes early in the harvest, other grapes weeks later after a rainy spell. Stainless-steel fermentation and aging on the lees led to a wine with both freshness and complex floral and ginger accents. 10,000 cases imported.

Tiefenbrunner Pinot Grigio, Veneto, Italy $16.99

90 points # 67
Founded in 1848, this estate is today owned and run by winemaker Christof Tiefenbrunner. The vineyards are located in the Bozen province of Alto Adige in the north of Italy, with the Italian Alps as their backdrop. Pinot Grigio is widely planted in the area, mostly for bulk production, but this version allies the refreshing appeal of the variety with serious winemaking. The grapes were grown in a mix of calcareous, silt, sand, gravel and clay-loam soils in vineyards ranging from 1,400 to 2,800 feet above sea level. The wine was aged in stainless-steel tanks and cement vats for four months before bottling. 25,800 cases made.

Volver Monastrell Tarima Hill Spain $16.99

92 points 2017 - #17
This red shows grace and depth. Black cherry, plum, mineral and smoke flavors mingle harmoniously over well-integrated tannins, while lively acidity keeps this focused. Not showy, but all the pieces fit together. Balanced, in the modern style. Monastrell. Drink now through 2025. 10,000 cases made.

Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon, Margaret River Australia $29.99

92 points #58
There's plenty of excitement about Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon, and Vasse Felix winemaker Virginia Wilcock counts herself among the most passionate for the category. Describing the elegance and finesse the best of these wines are known for, Wilcock explains, "I'm not a tutti-frutti winemaker." Rather, her focus is on savory and structured Cabernets. All are estate-grown in Vasse Felix's four vineyards. For the Filius, a blend of 86 percent Cabernet Sauvignon with 14 percent Malbec, Wilcock employed spontaneous fermentation with plenty of whole berries, a cold soak and gentle pump-overs, leaving the wine on the skins for an extended time to stabilize the tannins. 800 cases imported.

The Beers!!

SixPoint Alpenflo Helles Lager 6 pack $11.99
4.9%ABV 23 IBU
Some beers are easy to make and difficult to drink… but ALPENFLO is the opposite on both counts. It took years to acquire the materials and formula for Alpenflo—we’re talking all-malt, 100% 2-row barley, and we source all of the hops directly from family farms in Bavaria to give it that gentle spice. This lager is then cold-stored in horizontal lagering tanks to round out the flavor profile. Once opened, that frothy beverage is gone in a flash.

Lickinghole Creek Nuclear Nugget Imperial Honey IPA 4 pack $15.99
The Pineapple bomb is about to drop. Pineapple Nuclear Nugget Imperial Honey IPA is a delicious hop libation. It’s not delicate or subtle. What it is, is a hop head’s dream fulfilled. Pineapple Nuclear Nuggetexplodes with flavor. Strong pineapple flavor melds together with notes of citrus.

Stone Xocoveza Imperial Mexican Mocha Stout $6 pack $18.99
Stone Xocoveza For The Holidays & The New Year Our chocolaty, winter-spiced mocha stoutis back. This insanely delicious take on Mexican hot chocolate is crafted with cocoa, coffee, pasilla peppers, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg.
