Lapostolle
CANTO
de Apalta

28% Carmenere, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, and 21% Syrah.
2017
 Rapel Valley, Chile

Found on the bottom stack in the back of a refrigerated warehouse this wine has benefited greatly from time in the bottle.
Silky and elegant yet still big and bold, one taste and you will have wished you bought more!

Translated from Spanish and literally meaning Song of Apalta,Canto de Apalta is inspired by the diverse array of bird species now thriving amongst the Lapostolle vineyards.
The influence of local birds in particular, however, reaches beyond inspiration for this single wine.
In fact, it was the fortuitous encounter of a nest on a wild bush in the slopes of the Apalta vineyard that suggested the nest-like shape of the
Clos Apalta winery!

91 Points  The Wine Enthusiast
"From a warm vintage, this blend is ripe yet still balanced, with aromas of prune, blackberry, tree bark and leather.
The palate is saturated and broad, boasting flavors of dark, baked, black fruit accented by pepper and chocolate on the finish."

91 Points James Suckling

"Complex aromas of dark fruits and minerals with hints of mint follow through to a full body with round and chewy tannins and a fresh finish.
A blend of carmenere, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and syrah.
Drink now."

Our Thoughts on this wine.....

This wine is beautifully orchestrated with red and black fruit flavors, sweet oak and smoke
that make it a delicious pairing with well-seasoned braised or grilled meat.
Everything from Ribeye Steak to burgers, BBQ  Chicken and, of course, big, rich cheeses.
Enjoy!
