"The 2017 Lirac Lou Caminé offers a redder fruit style and has classy notes of raspberries, strawberries, and flowers.
Based on Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, and Cinsault, it’s medium-bodied, pure, and elegant, with no hard edges.
In short, it’s a charming Lirac that’s going to offer ample pleasure over the coming 4-5 years."

Our Thoughts on this wine.....

Up front, clean yet savory fruit, earthen complexities set this full-bodied, plush Lirac apart from its peers. Rich but crisp black-cherry and mulberry flavors have a balanced edge of acidity as well as integrated complexities of plum, granite and dried herb. The finish is long, marked by ripe but firm, grippy tannins.
By reflecting the sun’s heat, stony soil enables grapes to obtain exceptional levels of ripeness to produce full-bodied and complex wines that make Ogier one of the foremost houses in the Rhône Valley.
Sheltered in a very quiet place, the Lirac grows away from the beaten track, also called “caminé” in Provencal language.

 A bit about JuMi.....

JUMI was created as a project between two friends, Mike Glauser and Jurg Wyss, to honor and promote the cheesemaking traditions and innovations of Glauser’s family – fifth generation Emmental Valley cheesemakers.

Thriving in the creative environment allowed for by the 1999 dissolution of the Swiss Cheese Union, Glauser and Wyss collaborate with approximately sixty local dairy farmers to make and age complex and unique cheeses like Belper Knolle (“Tuber of Belp”, referring to its truffle-esque appearance), Hansfmutschli (infused with hemp seeds), and Sanglee des Couardises (a diminutive, seasonal Vacherin Mont d’Or style).

Milk production for JUMI cheese is extremely limited – the largest dairy milks just over 40 cows.  The farmers bring milk warm to the dairy where it is promptly inoculated with house cheese cultures, and is always made into cheese within 24 hours. Glauser and Wyss have been selling JUMI cheese since 2006 – at farmer’s markets across Europe, Borough Market Hall in the UK, Japan, and now at The Wine Cabninet!
