Capture Wines
TRADITION
Sauvignon Blanc  2018
Pine Mountain, Sonoma, California

It’s unheard of for a Northern California winery’s flagship wine to be a Sauvignon Blanc, but that is exactly the case with Capture.
What makes this bottling remarkable? It’s the highest elevation vineyard of Sauvignon Blanc in the United States!
What that brings to the bottle is incredible stone fruits but finishes fat and layered with creamy honeyed notes!
Capture Wines represents the marriage of time-honored Bordeaux winemaking with the intense fruit character of our organically farmed mountain estate,
Tin Cross Vineyards, nearly 2,500 feet above the Alexander Valley floor in Sonoma County.
Renowned winemaking team May-Britt and Denis Malbec, formerly of Chateau Latour in Bordeaux,
create wines to bring out the rich personality of the terroir.
The resulting wines are elegant expressions of depth, nuance and longevity.

90 Points  The Wine Advocate
"The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc Tradition comes 76% from Alexander Valley and 24% from Lake County, made in stainless steel with lees stirring. It offers gregarious scents of tarragon, chive and mown grass with kiwi, gooseberry, white peaches, flint and lychee notes. The palate is light-bodied and lively with pure fruits, bright acidity and a long, refreshing finish. 7,500 cases produced."

91 Points  Jeb Dunnuck
"Bordeaux-like with its crisp citrus, lemon, and white flower bouquet, the 2018 Sauvignon Blanc Tradition
is medium-bodied, vibrant and pure on the palate, with beautiful purity and freshness. It's impeccably made and well worth drinking.

Our Thoughts on this wine.....

The Tradition Sauvignon Blanc elevates the purity of the varietal through stainless steel fermentation and ten months of aging on the lees.
The result is an expression of bright citrus such as subtle lime, white and yellow stone fruit, and green apple fragrances.
The high vineyards bring out the ideal characteristics of Sauvignon Blanc with mineral texture, brilliant acidity, yet a creamy and rich finish.
Perfect for for everything you would use lemon!

A bit about Capture in their words.....

Pine Mountain – Cloverdale Peak AVA
Remote, rugged and extreme, Captûre’s Pine Mountain estate vineyard straddles the peak: a jaw-dropping 3,000 feet above sea level. Miles of unspoiled mountains, valleys and farmland stretch out below; above, there is only sky.
The windswept mountaintop is like a moonscape, parched and dry with fine volcanic gravel and rocky patches offering no traction for anything but desert brush and the hardiest grapevines.
These brutal growing conditions naturally keep yields at just two tons per acre, pouring intense color and concentration into the fruit.
This desolate place is planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon, with smaller blocks of Merlot and the United States’ highest elevation Sauvignon Blanc.
We are just beginning to chart this land of the unknown, but what is already clear; is that this wild peak produces wines with uncommon character, grace and stamina.
