 BODEGA GARZON

TANNAT RESERVE

 Maldonado, Uruguay 2018

Big and Beautiful!

If you’re looking for a bold red that doesn’t hold back on sheer power, look no further than Tannat.
Originally from Southwest France, where it is the main grape in the red wines of Madiran, it has also taken hold in Uruguay. There, producers are so taken with Tannat that it is considered Uruguay’s national grape.
With its dark almost black skin the Tannat grape is very high in antioxidants and is at the heart of the “French Paradox” (high fat diet, lower heart disease) conversation.

90 Points The Wine Enthusiast
"Ripe blackberry aromas. The palate of this Tannat, from a benchmark vintage, is ripe and full in feel.
Blackberry jam and spice flavors are ripe and satisfying,
while this is warm and complete on the finish."

About Bodega Garzón....

Bodega Garzón is an emergent family estate in the idyllic country of Uruguay, pioneered by Alejandro P. Bulgheroni that produces limited-production premium wines from estate-grown, sustainably-farmed grapes. Unique in the region, Bodega Garzón is leading the charge in winemaking innovation, varietal experimentation, and sustainability. Although focused primarily on Tannat, Uruguay’s national grape, Bodega Garzón works with many other varietals and clones. It is one of the few producers of Albariño in the country.

Opened in March 2016, Bodega Garzón sets new benchmarks for elegance of design, modern technology, and sustainable practices. Bodega Garzón is the first winery, outside North America, seeking LEED certification for the entire facility, including winemaking and hospitality.
