Crafted from several vineyards across three AVAs in Washington State (Columbia Valley, Red Mountain, and Walla Walla Valley), 
this red wine is a combination of many Bordeaux varietals, and includes a splash of Syrah for complexity.
The name Blackboard celebrates the use of chalk in the winery, which is used for marking everything
- from wine barrels, winery walls to fermentation tanks.
A portion of Blackboard proceeds will be used to support local, national, and international educational charities.

We take our inspiration from the great wineblending techniques of Bordeaux and from the exceptional fruit that our state is producing. Since 1992, Matthews has crafted red blends from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot, and white wines exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.
