Malbec

2017
Mendoza, Argentina

100% Malbec.

Old and New World meet in this bottle.
All the complexity of Europe with all the finesse of California!

What we love most about Achaval-Ferrer is their belief that it is appropriate to have the smallest amount of intervention necessary between the earth, the vine
and the winery is needed to make a great glass of wine!

92 Points James Suckling
"Notes of bright blackcurrants, elderberries, crushed violets, pepper and coffee bean. Full body, lovely vibrant acidity, juicy tannins, plenty of tangy fruit and a deliciously fruity finish."

Our Thoughts on this wine.....

This is the textbook definition of Malbec in a great vintage year.
Bright violet in color, this wine is fresh and floral, featuring blackberry, plums and violets on the nose and palate.
The wine is soft and round with a hint of perfectly timed minerality.
Silky tannins mark a lengthy finish.
Low yields, careful vineyard management and low intervention winemaking are the hallmark of this producer.

Delicious!

A bit about Achaval-Ferrer ….

Founded in 1998, Achaval-Ferrer is a team of friends who dream about great wines. Achaval-Ferrer is also a collection of old vineyards in beautiful places. They are committed to the production of wines that are expressive of their terroir. They are a small winery because this is the key to top quality. Low yields allow the vineyards to express their personality in the grapes

Roberto Cipresso
