92 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

" Deep garnet-purple colored, it delivers vibrant black cherries, black raspberries and wild blueberries with touches of licorice, grilled meats, Provence herbs and Sichuan pepper. Medium to full-bodied, it gives vibrant, expressive black fruit and spicy layers with a soft, rounded texture and refreshingly savory finish."
93 Points Jeb Dunnuck
"Made from 85% Syrah and 15% Petite Sirah, its deep purple color is followed by a peppery, meaty, dark fruited beauty that has full-bodied richness, complex notes of olives and spice, sweet tannin, and a great finish.
It’s a pleasure-bent 2015 that should keep for a decade."

“I think about Bootleg as the Jim Hendrix
version of the Nation Anthem, unconstrained but incredible”

Our Thoughts on this wine.....

Offers an inky purple color as well as a big, sexy bouquet of blueberries, crushed violets, vanilla bean, and sappy herbs. This medium to full-bodied, concentrated red has bright acidity, plenty of background oak, and a good finish. It's a ripe, fruit bomb to enjoy over the coming 5-6 years.

 About Bootleg in their words….
At Bootleg we pay tribute to the devotion and daring that inspired our forefathers:
the wine growing rogues, who smuggled vine cuttings from renowned French vineyards
and replanted them in California to elevate American wine to world class status.
In their spirit, we embrace “unconstrained winemaking,” awarding our winemaker the freedom to create the ultimate expression of each vintage—outside the bounds of a given varietal, appellation, or winemaking tradition.
Without rules or expectations comes the opportunity to redefine the game.
Though the recipe may change from year to year, Bootleg’s exuberant, bold and complex blends
challenge convention while remaining anchored in celebrated vineyards throughout Napa and Sonoma.
