New Arrivals from Dionysos
Pizzolati Prosecco Brut 750 mL $18.99
187 mL $ 7.99
91 pts. Wine Enthusiast - Organic
This wine opens with alluring aromas of jasmine, beeswax and Bosc pear.
The juicy, elegant palate delivers green apple, lemon zest and hazelnut alongside bright acidity and refined, persistent bubbles.
Pizzolati Rose' Spumante' 750 mL $18.99
187 mL $ 7.99
Light pink color with bright reflections. Armonic in the mouth with sweet notes in balance with a good acidity.
Harmonious, fruity with hints of cherry and delicate floral notes.
Varietals: 95% Glera, 5% Raboso
Award: Experience Rosé – 2018 Competition – 94 pts
Los Noques Sauvignon Blanc $14.99
It wasn't until the 1960s that Juan Arrigoni, an Italian immigrant, planted his first vineyard. He sold his grapes to local wineries for over 50 years before his offspring purchased a winery and decided to make their own wine. The original Los Noques winery was built in 1938 in Argentina's Uco Valley. It was the first winery in the region. The Arrigoni Family purchased it in 2005 and upgraded its cellars and equipment to modern day standards.
Normally, we turn our heads to Chile for great Sauvignon Blanc from South America. But this selection turned us around. The extraction of peach, apricot, and guava is nothing short of stunning as it blasts through the palate on to a finish that tingles and titillates. Nothing short of steamed clams in white wine and garlic or shrimp in lemongrass soup will do.
Quinta Dos Grilos, DOC $11.99
Intense ruby. Aromas of red fruit mix, wild berries, toasted nuts and spicy notes.
Taste is fruity, smooth, balanced with distinct persistence.
This wood-aged wine has firm tannins and layers of black fruits.
The toasty edge and dense nature of the wine are good promises for aging.
Joseph Swan Estate Zinfandel "Cuvee De Trois" $42.99
The Russian River Valley generally produces well during warm vintages.
The area has mostly "old vine" Zinfandel, characterized as spicy and somewhat lower in alcohol than Zinfandel from other regions.
Blackberry, anise and pepper notes dominate in wines made in warmer areas
and in wines made from the earlier-ripening Primitivo clone.
