For your Easter Dinner!

95 Points Luca Maroni
“Young dark-red colour with purple hints.
Sangiovese has a bouquet rich in violets, pure black fruits and delicate perceptions of vanilla and toasty oak. Full and round body with soft tannins.”

Luca Maroni is a highly acclaimed wine critic and author butis mostly known within Italy and the EU. He does some writings for Decanter magazine where he is their Italian wine expert. Since 1990, he has written and published 72 issues of his magazine and over 70 books on Italian and world wines.
Between 1988 and 2022, he has tasted over 300,000 wines, I don't think I am going to catch him!

Our Thoughts on this wine....
Deep red in color with marked purplish reflections, it has a lively and fresh character. The bouquet is reminiscent of small black berries and red fruit in which the hint of vanilla completes the harmonic sequence of aromas.
The flavor is full, soft and generous in the mouth with velvety smooth tannins and a nice overall freshness.
Recommended with: charcuterie, hams, lamb, fresh cheese, chicken and other white meats
.

Duca di Saragnano

The name the Duke di Saragnano is a story of nobility. In a time when Arab marauders were invading all of Southern Italy and conquering much of the Tyrrhenian coastline, one noble local stood to protect the land, the people and his family. It is the noble Duke of Saragnano that gravely fought against the Arab army, who inspired this line of wines. Although the story ends in the Duke's defeat, it’s his legend that is honored with a toast. The Barbanera Family Winery decided to give the company's historic line his name, as winemaker Luigi Barbanera is one of the Duke di Saragnano title’s last heirs.
