 Avignonesi has been the benchmark for Sangiovese production for decades!

This significant Tuscan village was home to one of the first four Italian
Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantitas (DOCG) granted in 1980.
Based on the Sangiovese grape (here called Prugnolo Gentile),
the village’s prized wine called Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 
(not to be confused with the grape of the same name grown in other regions of Italy)
ranks stylistically between Chianti Classico, for its finesse, and Brunello di Montalcino for its power.

Our Thoughts on this wine.....

In the glass, it has intense garnet red reflections.
On the nose, aromas of red berries, cherry and pomegranate
and the unmistakable violet scent of Sangiovese with a background touch of vanilla and herbs.
On the palate, it is well balanced with ripe cherry and plum, supported by a dense texture.
The body is warm, ethereal and enveloping with a long and persistent finish.
