The Sarget de Gruaud Larose is the second wine of Château Gruaud Larose. This wine comes from a vineyard of 82 hectares in the Saint-Julien appellation. The vines have an agerage age of 25 years of age and they grow in Garrone gravel. The ageing is done in barrels (15% in new barrels and the rest in old barrels with one or two wines) for at least 14 months. The Sarget de Gruaud Larose 2016 is a blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc.

This is a dense, smoky wine with powerful tannins. It follows the line of richness set since the 2014 vintage and balances rich black fruits and concentrated tannins cut with final acidity. Drink from 2025.
