Miguel Merino's Vineyards
Miguel Merino is a family owned winery placed in Briones (Rioja Alta). The annual production is just over 30,000 bottles, which are shipped to more 30 countries. The property, of some three thousand meters, includes a house of stone, built in 1818, where the family home and the offices are; the aging room, with capacity for 350 barrels and some 90,000 bottles; the new vinification and bottling rooms; and an experimental vineyard of 1,020 square meters. The target of the company is to produce the best quality possible and to maintain the volume.

Since the beginning of Miguel Merino's exporting career he had long dreamt of having his own small "bodega", where he could make a few bottles of wine of the best quality possible. Briones, in the heart of the Rioja Alta,  gathered all the conditions he was looking for: old steep vineyards of Tempranillo grapes, chalky soil and a climate showing a marked Atlantic influence. Declared a town of historic and artistic merit, Briones is where he decided to site his bodega.

The Wines!!
Namorio Albarino $17.99
The philosophy of Valdamor winery is based on trying to integrate the traditional work in the vineyard while using modern techniques for the vinification process, this to capture the authentic character of the Albariño grape. Namorío is one of Valdamor's best examples of Albariño.
Namorio Albarino: Cold-macerated and then cold-fermented in stainless steel to maintain its vibrant primary fruit, filled with floral notes and the brightness of a fresh peach.

Lora Blanca $11.99
Beautiful pale white colour with green hints. Tropical fruits and floral aromas on the nose of this delicate, savoury organic white wine. Dry, smooth and elegant, with great balance and length. Perfect to drink with Tapas, salads and vegetable dishes, all kinds of pasta, mild cheeses and exotic cuisine. It also goes great with fish, seafood, grilled meats or just a glass on its own.

Nexo Carinena Garnacha $12.99
Nutmeg, rose petals, and cinnamon sticks. Warm baking spice, like Christmas and apple cider.
While most of the world’s Garnacha — or Grenache as we know it in the US — is grown in France, we’d argue that the Spanish do it best. Typically, this medium-bodied wine would have a slightly higher alcohol content (around 15 percent ABV), but this Nexo Garnacha isn't quite so strong, making it a perfect pairing for drinking all day long and for balancing out spicier foods.

This is a lighter style of Garnacha that’s perfect for the individuals who say they "don't like red wine." It is easy to drink and the spice and subtle fruit drift together nicely. The fruit isn’t overly aggressive, the tannin is integrated well — it’s everything you need, and want, in a friendly red.

Rioja Jovenes $22.99
Old vines do not live forever. In order to have access to such special vines in the future as we do today, we needed to start working on younger vineyards as well.
With their grapes we make our Miguel Merino Viñas Jóvenes.

Rioja Reserva $39.99
Balance and harmony are the key of a good Reserva wine. Nothing must be missing, but nothing should outstand: fruit, intensity, structure, longitude and personality must play in unison as a good orchestra. And that is what we look for with this wine made from vineyards planted in the 60’s.

The Beers!!

Alewerks Weekend Lager, 4 pack $11.99

The lager poured a very clear gold color with a small head and some lacing. The aroma of sweet malts and bread was noted.
The lager has a medium body with soft carbonation. There was hints of baking soda in the taste. The lager finished cleanly with some latent sweetness.
This particular beer begins as Weekend Lager before and infusion of hundreds of pounds of cranberries.
The result is a refreshing, smooth lager made sharply invigorating. Enjoy immediately as this beer is only available for a limited time.

Solce's Sun's Out Hop's Out IPA, 6 pack $12.99

4.7% ABV - IBU. 141
Crisp easy drinking Session IPA. Brewed with Citra and Mosaic hops. So, what does Sun’s Out Hops Out have to offer then?
First and foremost, there is a ton of tropical fruitiness to be found within the lightly hazy IPA.
Tangerine, grapefruit and pine lead the way for a leafy and natural hop profile that I personally enjoy.

Licking Hole Creek Heir Apparent Imperial Stout, 4 pack $16.99
Heir Apparent is an imperial stout with a complex caramel soul tempered by a chocolate and roasty undertone.
Sweeter in style than Russian Imperial stouts at
only 60 IBUs but balanced by the heat of fresh Mexican peppers, vanilla and cacao nibs.
The Heir Apparent is ambitiously biding his time until he comes to power. His time will come.
