The Wines!!

Jordanov Rkaciteli 2018
Tikves, Macedonia
Rkatceteli is a varietal that goes back to the mists of time. It grows in Macedonia and modern Greece, and is reminiscent of the wonderful, briny Mediterranean white wines that are bright, crisp, clean, and floral. It is, however, distinctive; with pleasing gravelly notes, and a slight exotic quality that makes one know they’re not having another Pinot Grigio. Taut and brisk, this is winemaking with heart. Enjoy with fried oysters.

Giocato “Gio” Chardonnay 2017
Goriska Brda, Slovenia
Cult winemaker Aleks Simcic (of Edi Simcic) is a recognized master of Chardonnay, making some of the finest examples in Europe within the prized terroir of western Slovenia. His GIO Chardonnay offers an opportunity to enjoy an affordable premium wine from one of the best. Made with 1/3 of the wine aged on lees and barrel aging, the wine has a lovely crisp, fresh style that expresses Old World vitality with a touch of lush, viscous body. With notes of green apple, lime, baked pear and creme de menthe, this is a delightful wine to satisfy those desiring a “new generation” Chardonnay.

Becker Pinot Noir 2014
Newcomer of the Year in 2006 and for eight of the last nine years the estate produced Germany’s top Pinot Noir as chosen by Gault-Millau. For many years now, the Becker estate located in Schweigen, very far south of the Pfalz on the border of Alsace, has been one of the top Pinot Noir producers in Germany. The best Becker Pinot Noirs compare favorably with the best Burgundy has to offer. The chalky limestone yields supple flavors of black cherry fruit, baked rhubarb, and blueberry on palate. There’s a velvety finesse, which yields to aromatic violets and lavender, freshly picked tarragon, cola and bitter dark chocolate. A real crowd pleaser!

Marchetti Rosso Conero Riserva DOC 2017
Marche, Italy
Famiglia Marchetti has been making wine in the Marche region forover a century, and for at least 50 years, have produced one of the top Montepulcianos (Rosso Conero) made anywhere. Marche produces the greatest, most elegant expression of the Montepulciano grape; and few, if any, are making this wine better than Maurizio Marchetti. Known for his impeccable Verdicchio in the States, he is famous for his red Montepulciano back home in Ancona. Laced with an intriguing smoky, cranberry spice and ripe plums, this is an everyday favorite for both sides of the Atlantic.

La Quercia Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva DOC 2015
Antonio Lamona is the most humble rock-star we know. His basic Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is a staple of our Small Vineyards Portfolio, and we are thrilled to present his Riserva. Aged in 50 hl Slavonian oak for 12 months, and an additional year in steel, the wine exudes wonderful character from the 40 year-old vines. Grown in the classic “tendone” (or tent) style, the plantings are pruned to produce about 2/3 of a bottle per plant (very low yields!). Not to be missed.

The Beers!!

Modern Times Fortunate Islands Hoppy Wheat Ale, 4 pack $15.99
ABV 5.0% IBU 46
CITRA • AMARILLO - HOP VARIETALS
WHEAT MALT • TWO ROW • CARAVIENNE -MALT VARIETALS
Fortunate Islands combines the bangin' hop aroma of an über-tropical IPA with the crisp, deeply quenching drinkability of a killer pale ale.
We achieve this magical result by starting with a mild, nutty malt backbone, then dry-hopping the bejesus out of it with Citra and Amarillo hops.
Restrained bitterness and vibrant notes of mango, tangerine, and passionfruit combine to form a sessionable crusher of mind-bending proportions. It tastes like wizards.

Modern Times Blazing World Amber Double IPA, 4 pack $14.99
ABV 6.8% IBU 85
NELSON • SIMCOE • MOSAIC - HOP VARIETALS
TWO ROW • MUNICH • MIDNIGHT WHEAT - MALT VARIETALS

It's a luxuriously hoppy amber loaded up with intemperate quantities of Nelson, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops, which are some of the fruitiest, dankest hops sweet, sweet money can buy.
Despite its amber hue, Blazing World is pleasingly dry, sporting a lightly bready malt backbone that serves as platform for the huge & complex hop profile.

Modern Times Orderville Mosaic IPA, 4 pack $16.99

ABV 7.2% IBU 76
MOSAIC • BUNCH OF DANK VARIETIES - HOP VARIETALS
TWO ROW • OPTIC MALT - MALT VARIETALS
Orderville is an aggressive, fragrant IPA that blends the fruit-forward character of Mosaic hops with resinous stickiness from a mélange of dank hops. The resulting beer is immensely rad, with an unmistakable bangin’ aroma and a fully saturated hop flavor and finish. The cracker-dry body keeps the focus squarely on the massive, incredibly delicious hop character, inviting your taste buds to join a drum circle of flavor in a magical forest of hops.
