The Wines!!
Paul Direder Rose', 1 Liter $11.99
Light salmon-red in color, vitalizing fresh fruit flavors of strawberries and raspberries.
Crisp clean dry finish.
Serving Suggestion: a perfect glass of wine for the spring and the summer,
ideal with vegetables, Asian foods, pasta and Seafood dishes, especially fried shrimp!
Reserve Des Rochers Macon-Chautre' $18.99
Aromas of pear and golden delicious apples mingle with scents of wet stone.
Full bodied, this Chardonnay is also fresh, crisp, and clean, with citrus acidity and an edge of minerality to complement its long finish.
Dashwood Pinot Noir, New Zealand $14.99
This bright garnet wine shows lifted cherry fruit and mushroom notes on the nose.
The palate exhibits ripe black cherry fruit flavors and has soft tannin finish.
This wine is made to drink young, and will show its best now and over the next few years.
Spann Vineyards, Mo Zin $24.99
A blend of 62% Zinfandel, 11% Mourvedre, 11% Petite Sirah, 8% Carignane, and 10% Syrah.
Zinfandel creates a marvelous base of raspberry and blackberry flavor while the mourvèdre adds a raspberry aroma and a meaty/beefy taste and rich mouth-feel. Cinsault adds a hint of strawberry to the aroma while helping to bring the alcohol down. Syrah and Petite Sirah add deep color and richness,
with Syrah contributing notes of black plum and Petite Sirah adding a touch of spice.
This Provence-inspired wine was made to be immediately enjoyable but will also improve and gain complexity in the bottle for 5 to 8 years after the vintage date.
As this ages, more of the leathery/raspberry notes from the mourvèdre will appear.
