Crisp, zesty retsina from Greece with aromas of toasted citrus, green apples and touches of pine, thyme and spearmint on the finish. Tangy and dry, this intriguing wine would naturally work beautifully alongside some dolmades (stuffed vine-leaves), plates of salty fish, feta and olives. Tetramythos are bringing this ancient wine bang up to date without sacrificing tried and trusted methods. Fermentation still takes place in open-top clay amphorae where the resin creates an oily film on top of the wine protecting it from oxidation. What’s equally amazing about Tetramythos’ retsina is that it could also be described as a single-vineyard wine, the resin being sourced from pine trees found in the same vineyard as the roditis grapes.
