The Wines!!
Jim Futrell, Republic National
Garzon Reserve Sauvignon Blanc $17.99

This Sauvignon Blanc offers pleasant fruity aromas and an unctuous and frank palate. Fresh and vibrant, it shows citric and fruity notes, with minerality and a delicate passion fruit presence.  Perfect with boiled oysters and clams with ginger-flavored lime, fresh crab with lemon, sea bass with olive oil and tomato, gazpacho with creamy goat cheese, sushi/sashimi, smoked salmon, grilled pilchard, pickled mackerel, fried fish, as well as Greek and Mexican cuisines.

Portillo Chardonnay $14.99
Pale yellow color with subtle scents reminiscent of green apple and pear with mineral notes.
A refreshing mouthfeel of apple, apricot and stony minerality.
An ideal match for lighter fare such as salads and seafood dishes, as well as pasta or grilled vegetables.

Alta Vista Estate Cabernet Franc $22.99
91 Points Robert Parker!
"The 2017 Estate Cabernet Franc was produced with grapes from their Campo de los Andes vineyard in Vista Flores. It fermented in epoxy-lined concrete vats, and 50% of the wine matured in used barriques for 12 months. They regrafted some Cabernet Sauvignon vines to Cabernet Franc, and they do a co-fermentation with a small amount of Malbec, which helps to round up the Cabernet Franc tannins. It has marked varietal character, spicy and peppery, but it's also floral and aromatic. The palate is medium-bodied, it has fine tannins and very good balance, clean flavors and a long, elegant finish. It's very good for the price asked. I found the 2017s quite balanced and fresh."

Garzon Reserve Tannat $24.99
If you’re looking for a bold red that doesn’t hold back on sheer power, look no further than Tannat. Originally from Southwest France, where it is the main grape in the red wines of Madiran, it has also taken hold in Uruguay. There, producers are so taken with Tannat that it is considered Uruguay’s national grape. With its dark almost black skin the Tannat grape is very high in antioxidants and is at the heart of the “French Paradox” (high fat diet, lower heart disease) conversation.

Ripe blackberry aromas. The palate of this Tannat, from a benchmark vintage, is ripe and full in feel. Blackberry jam and spice flavors are ripe and satisfying, while this is warm and complete on the finish.

Salentein Reserve Malbec $24.99
Medium ruby. Aroma of ripe plums, cherries and blackberries are complemented by a hint of tobacco. A balanced and complex wine with flavors of red currants, black cherries and cinnamon. Well-matched with barbecued meats, robust pasta entrées, baked ham, pork chops and sharp cheese.
